I’ve got an old Inspire controller you can play with if you want
Cheers. Ive got an air 2s and dont know if it will work. Probably should just try it with the n1
Definitely won’t work with an A2S, The old Smart Controller, RC-N1 or RC are the ones that work with an Air 2S
Don’t forget we have a Drone and RC compatibility chart here.
It’s currently in the process of being updated … just waiting to see what the Air 3S uses to complete the update.
ive done the controller modification and the gimbal dial now works how i wanted it. push right and the gimbal goes down and pull left and it goes up. not had it up in air yet though. first bit of eclectronics ive done (if you could even call it that) and it was worth it. just out of interest, how are other dji drone contoller gimbal dials set up? have i just rewired my brain to get used to something knowing that when i do upgrade drone and controller ill have to undo it again? dont really want to be opeing up a contoller with a screen inside.
They are ALL the same … unless you’ve tampered with them.
@OzoneVibe havent you ever found that the way the dials are set up arnt the correct way? i was reading on some other forums that if the dial was on the side of the controller then it would make sense to push up and the camera tilt up and pull down and so on. but because the dial is on the top of my controller, i dont know about others thats why i asked, its harder to get your head around pushing right and then tilting up. couldnt really find anything on the grey arrows about it. was suprised. im sure someone will correct me though. maybe its a prefecnece thing and how some people wont find it strange the dials that way at all. Would have been that hard for dji for thn to have implemented a reversal in the software so people could choose. It really does make the world of difference while filming and flying as apposed to people who might just be taking photos with their drone technologies
One reason they are all (basically) the same is so that there’s no problem moving from one model to another.
If they varied, or you had two+ drones that were different, you’d be making mistakes all the time and ruining videos that you were trying to take.
Imagine if some cars had the accelerator on the left …
(Actually - I have driven a car that had that … )
i think your right. theres more trhen one mode for controlling the sticks though. why not let people choose the way the dial works? even just for photographing, the amount of times ive pushed right because i wanted to tilt down slihty to better frame sometrhing and gone up instead.
i might just be mad! also not the greatest at spelling it seems
You could have just turned the RC upside down …
i guess the real pros have a gimble man/woman or everything is just all super technical with waypoints and mission planning
If it helps, I just (in my mind) think of the direction that the left hand (vertical) edge of the wheel moves when I push the wheel …. Push the top part to the right and the left edge of the wheel moves up.
It works in my head 🫨
How I remembered it until muscle memory kicked in: Turning the wheel to the (R)ight (R)aises the gimbal. Turning it to the (L)eft (L)owers the gimbal. Righty-raise, lefty-lower.
