Interesting NOTAMs / Flight Reports / temporary flight restriction zones

Ah - clicking on the “Drone Scene” logo (top left) it works. (win/Brave)

Worked for me on Android (Pixel 9a) but as soon as I moved the view, it vanished.

A map move forces the reload of the layers.

Not only does a map move reload the layers, is also reapplies the zoom limitation as to which layers are not reloaded.

Check out this huge NOTAM area in effect this week over half the damn country !
It’s a jamming advisory, very limited in time and scope and frequency, and I think I am correct in surmising it should be nothing we need to worry about, our control signals being up in the GigaHertz, rather than the MHz they are selectively blocking…

If I read it right, it’s only for one minute duration, well “NOT TO EXCEED ONE MINUTE DURATION”

the frequencies look like the air-band and the bottom of the 2metre band I think

@AeroJ we’ve moved your post to the existing thread where this NOTAM is being discussed

Just seen this on drone assist, signal jamming .

A new red zone from Leuchars, very big and extending all over Tayport, Newport on tay and almost all the way to Cupar.

I wonder if it’s a new big zone or if it’s a temporary military training thing.

Not just Leuchars, they have appeared for all military airfields it looks like. I wonder if someone has enabled something they shouldn’t have, as reading the doc below these zones have always existed but are class G.

I am very confused with it as I can’t see it on any other map so not sure what to do.

Absolutely routine. Happens in many parts of the country many times a year. Nothing unusual or interesting about this. Also of no consequence at all to drone users.
(But yes, they’re blocking the control bands used by drones..if you happen to be in the exercise area at the time. Which you wont be).

Anyone know why a large chunk of Bristol is a restriction zone for a week from tomorrow?

Smaller bulletin for signal jammer as well. “Large gathering of people” centred on Ashton Gate.

But a full week.

Briefing sheet 058/2025 gives no details at all as to why.

Edit:- Asked Gemini and it appears to be some some Womens rugby game.

Here’s what I’m involved with tomorrow… Just hoping and praying the wind will calm down enough for the main event tomorrow with TOAL from a steamship. :crossed_fingers: :folded_hands:

After the Frauditor last year who had a barney in the security office at the Southampton Boat Show and decided to overfly the show itself…The organisers this year it appears decided to apply for a temporary restriction zone for drones only.

This seemingly unfair targeting of drone operators is getting more and more common.

I think we might need to start making a stand.

Let’s start the ball rolling.

This says contact Drones@dyfed-powys.police.uk if seeking permission to fly.
I wonder what would happen if a lot of people sent an email stating that, in the absence of a reply from them, it is taken that approval is given to fly if the operator has the relevant CAA Operator ID?

That’s not quite how the UK legal system works.

That’d be a bit like emailing Greater Manchester Police and saying that in the absence of a reply from them, it is taken that approval is given to drive while over the prescribed limit for alcohol if the driver has the relevant DVLA licence.
