Introduction from Rob - Lincolnshire

Hello name is Rob not sure if I put this in the right place so apologies if I haven’t. I’m relatively new to drone world. I had a phantom 4 to learn basics on for a year of which have now sold in favor of the Air 3s of which only received yesterday.
Waited till I had a proper case and landing pad and watched numerous you tube videos on Air 3. I’m looking to take the level 4 license with Coptrz this year which gives Gvc and A2 I think qualifications.

There are regular challenges which are open to all, that attract members of all abilities. Support, advice and constructive criticism is freely available; still photography, video and the techniques for editing both are involved in the challenges. Suggestions, for subjects or for complete challenges, are always welcome - take a look in the Challenges category for more information.

Hi seadog, any relevance to the nick name.. you navy?

Not navy, used to sail, Irish Sea /north west coast Scotland & live less than 1/4 mile from sea front. Still have boat though been neglected for some years, had accident which meant I couldn’t climb ladders to maintain her. Costs me a fortune in mooring/dock fees.

Then the name is befitting you. I’m sorry to hear about your injury. Ok you can’t sail… But you can fly use your drone as freedom to the sky and look down on the sea. Not as regret but all the memories you did have. As for the sail boat I know it’s hard to let go of such a connection to the sea. But wouldn’t you rather see or know she can give joy to another sailor and let her go. Put the money in something you can enjoy. I know the sea as I am navy and have been since 1982 when I joined. I now teach aerial rescue from height to younger sailors, army and Air Force so I want to bring my job into the future and I think drones are going to be a big influence down the line..

Not easy to sell, everyone these days wants floating caravans, mine is a long keeler, fairly narrow beam, very sea worthy (have gone around the world), but these days not desirable anymore.

If she is as good as you say then someone will fall in love with her.. but if she is not out there to be sold she won’t be found my friend.. isn’t there a thing called boat trader like bikes and cars but for boats have you tried there..
