Only just got my M2P so possibly getting ahead of myself but I’m currently using my phone with the controller, which is fine but I’m not sure how practical it is really going to be - mainly because it’s my only phone and if I’m out and about with the drone it just feels like it’s going be a bit of hassle.
So was thinking of getting myself a small tablet (seems like the Huawei M5 8.4 inch is popular) or possibly another phone.
Then occurred to me I have my iPad Pro 12.9 which I’d like to do more than just watch Youtube videos on. That would be the cheapest option, however I can’t help but thing it’s a bit of a monster and would be a bit unweildy sitting on the controller.
Is anyone using an iPad Pro as their main controller? How do you find it? The screen would be great, of course, but I can’t help but think it’s not practical.

I use a Huawei 10.1 inch tablet to pair with my controller (and, presumably, for the Red Army to update their maps of the areas I fly). I also have an iPad Pro original 9.7 inch for use with apps that are IOS only.
The major hassle iss finding a decent hood / sunshade for either, necessary in anything approaching bright weather. Depending on how I mount the tablets the controller is normally part or fully obscured but that’s no real problem as it’s only two sticks and a couple of switches.
The advantage in using a large tablet is that fat fingers are less likely to hit the wrong screen icon and the screen is a lot easier to see. As Rich says, use a lanyard to take the weight and, if it appeals, try one of these:

For this, there was the additional hassle of needing a further cable, coming out of the bottom of the controller, to the iPad.
I think I’ll probably be going down the iPad Mini 4 route. You can pick those up fairly cheap on eBay these days. Phone is fine for now until the coffers allow another gadget! Like the idea of the iPad being used to share the flying experience though! I’ll be giving that a try at least. Thanks @facherty
I have used a 12.9 pro and a 9.7 ok but bit cumbersome mainly when landed and picking up drone ect
ok while flying I use iPad mini 5 now, can’t stand using phone as most of the time people are trying to ring me or txt always as soon as i fly
