It’s getting Juddery ridiculous now

I’m still getting juddery video & I don’t know why. Panning highlights it more but occasional frame drops in standard straight flights.
Using Sandisk extreme U3 XC1 V30 cards (I’ve 3 & happens on all of them) formatted in drone & caché cleared.

Editing on DaVinci Resolve 17 (free) setting exact frame rates of 29.97 (same happens at 30 FPS) & tried recording in all 3 resolutions 1080, 2.7 & 4k. H.264 (resolve not keen on H.265)
Processing with laptop that’s running 8core 10th gen intel i7, Nvida 8gb GPU & 64gb RAM
Changed expo setting to slow everything down & flown in P & T modes (not tried cine mode yet tbh).
Any suggestions or does this sound like a DJI issue / drone fault.

Mavic Pro2 zoom.
All firmware up to date.

Thanks in advance for any advice as I know it’s been asked before but I can’t seem to find the answer as tried the options others have mentioned.

Posting an example might help someone identify the problem?

And straight from the drone, no post, too. :+1:

Will do tomorrow Dave as I’ll need to take fresh footage if straight from the drone. Once I’ve copied the file to my HD & checked it’s transferred, I format my MicroSSD’s.

I found that it was my PC causing the playback problems, changed to a cheap replacement GFX card that was spec to playback 4k video formats & works perfect now, no more juddery playback.

I’m running nvida rtx2070 GPU so the 8gb it has should handle 4K no problem. I’ve also tried 1080p, 2.7k & found it still juddery.

Put some raw footage on a drive somewhere so we can maybe take a look, as well as a youtube example as per @OzoneVibe

you need to show us that video as its hard to identify the issues without it.

What player are you using. I had a problem with VCL until I updated it. Also try uploading to YouTube and watch it on another device. Is the issue still there.

Also - to clarify - where in your workflow is this noticable?

  • When viewing the raw footage, direct from the SD card, on your computer? (not in DR … using VLC Media, or similar)
  • When playing the footage within DR?
  • When playing the footage after being processed in DR and rendered?

Can’t believe I’m the first to say this, but you need to upload some raw footage somewhere for us to see…

You are NOT the first.

But perhaps the first not to read the thread before posting?

Hence the winky

Can you upload an example video that we can have a look at?

I’ve a 2.26gb file with a few examples in that ill pop down times on - where do you guys post to file share?

I can see it on the files straight from the SD card

Google Drive?

Or clip it down to half that size and get a wesendit link

It might zip to <2gb, in which case the whole file can be sent via https://www.wesendit.com/.

Fake card?

Probably not if it’s the same at 1080?

No, not fake - I’ve 3 Sandisk Extreme bought at different times from different suppliers

just uploading onto youtube so O’ll share the link - obviously YT is doing its conversion bit though
