Hi i would like to learn 3d scanning then print, My idea is using an xbox kinnect v2, to do the scanning, I am wondering if anyone has done this and what was your experience doing this, also what are peoples best experience with software that is either free or cheap. My local computer shop has a 3d printer who would print out the files for me, so that is one less thing to worry about until i get used to 3d scanning, thanks in advance

You woke me up when I saw using the Xbox Kinnect to scan. Whilst I can not help you, I will be watching this thread as it sounds interesting.

Some recent iPhones have a LiDAR sensor which is quite similar to a Kinect sensor, and can be used for exactly this purpose. See [How to 3D Scan Using an iPhone - 3D Printing (6 Steps) - 3D Printerly](https://3dprinterly.com/how-to-3d-scan-using-an-iphone-3d-printing-6-steps/) for a few ideas on how to do this.
