Lake Vyrnwy Nov-21

Hi I read on here that folks thought that it was ok to fly drones by the dam at the head of the lake.

This is not correct, on the notice board by the cafe, it states this is a no drone flying area, its not obvious, I only saw it as I happened to be standing by it, there is also a busybody patrolling.

That said, further up the lake seems ok and no signs about no drones, I flew opposite the sifting tower and down the lake no issues.

Just a heads up to save somebody from being moaned at.

Cheers

As long as you’re not taking off or landing on their property and there is no air space restrictions then they can shove their sign where the sun don’t shine :+1:t2:

I would think this just means you cant take off from the area that the sculpture trail is in - so on the dry end of the dam wall. But cant see any reason why you can not take off from the B4393 that runs around the lake. Loads of little laybys to pull into.

If my memory is right there is a path with some stairs that goes from the sculpture trail park up to the main road that has a clear bit next to the road that could be perfect to take off and will give you good line of sight down the wall so you could maybe do that.
