Good morning. I’m quite new to the uploading of videos and have only attempted to edit one video recently so a newbie style question. After my first flight, watched video playback from my phone and quality looked ok on small phone, but then moved it to Google Drive and watched it on my iPad and saw it was grainy and not as good as I was expecting for HD. Then I removed the SD card from the P3A and watched the raw file and was amazed how good the quality difference is. Then I uploaded to You Tube, to share with family and the quality was downgraded to grainy again.
So now to the initial question, how can I upload to You Tube without losing too much quality. Is there settings that I missed?
Away to charge the batteries and get some more video and stills in the bag.
There’s not a great deal you can do. Uploading in 4k helps, but they still compress it. This is even more the case now as they’re heavily restricting bandwidth due to the number of people at home streaming.
Having said all that, there shouldn’t be a difference between the SD card and a version you stick on Drive. What software did you use to edit & export it?
When watching YT on a phone/tablet - make sure you’ve changed the default viewing resolution in the app settings. The default resolution is a mobile-data-saving 480p (I seem to recall).
Also, consider using Vimeo that is far superior in quality compared to YT.

I get pretty good results uploading to Youtube. I mainly always upload in 4k.
