Where do I go with this one ?
Recently returned a Mavic battery to Amazon they provided return label and Lithium battery warning label, and received a letter from RM yesterday saying it was dangerous goods and have disposed of it and no compensation. OK I was aware of the dangerous goods act but asked at post office what situation was I explained what it was and that it was discharged had a power on/off button and showed them a picture of it on my phone, assistant accepted it was good to send as theoretically it was not a battery on its own but connected to something and in original packaging she accepted it recorded 1st class, now they accepted that package and I am £74.99 lighter as this is still showing not received at Amazon so no refund, RM said they are not responsible and that Post Office are separate company accepting goods on there behalf.
Do you have proof of postage?
Contact Amazon via Chat - they have always been 110% helpful with any issues I’ve had - they constantly surprise me with how helpful they are when it comes to returns. The CSO’s on chat have the authority to approve refunds on the spot - but they may ask you for proof of the return.
I have been refunded by Amazon when a return disappeared on its way back to them.
Should not be a problem for you as you have proof you sent it and proof that RM disposed of it.
I was always under the impression that Amazon have there own returns policy, using Couriers.
Not experienced any returns mind you to test this!.
RM have had a battery returns ban for a long time now, I am sure Amazon will be of help, if approached.
They may ask you to send them copies of the RM letter to them via the chat or email while you’re talking to them - easiest way it to take a piccy of it with your phone - I’ve had to do this with a proof of postage receipt.
Wow that was quick, 4 minutes and refunded they did not ask for proof they said we can see you returned it 2 weeks ago and this is what she said - GMT Lyka : Nothing for you to worry, we have lots of incidents like this due to high volume of orders item.
