Additional notes:
This is a public park with potential pedestrian hazards although there is plenty of space for everyone. I have looked at the site and there it has a football and cricket pitch but I cannot find any times for organised teams to play there.
This is my first time organising a meetup so apologies if this site is not suitable for drone flying. I've entered camera and FPV drones as a default.
Please remember to wear your official Membership ID card to this club meetup — it helps other members recognise you straight away.
Official club meetup ID cards and lanyards are available from our shop:
Did you find it relatively easy to add the meet via Drone Scene?
There is a small housekeeping task after your meet - it’s semi-automated, you just have to confirm from the list who was there and add any miscreants that snuck in without letting you know beforehand. Then they get their attendee badges and you get your first organiser’s badge …
Sorry I won’t be able to come along but I hope you get decent weather and some fun flying
Thank you for all of your replies I’m looking forward to meeting you all! Its my first meetup and hoping that the site will be ok for everyone
Its looking like the weather might behave itself - I’m just hoping that the wind will ease off a bit…
Theres a couple of park benches around the perimeter path but it might be an idea to bring a camping chair just in case (if you want to sit down while flying…)
@RedFox5 Hi Laura, can you give me an idea of the early-evening wind speeds, please? Up here in Berkshire, the breeze tends to increase close to the limits for my Mini 5 pro and with my limited experience, I tend to be a little overcautious.
