I’m a bit concerned that the battery cover doesn’t just cover the data card. How secure are these cards. I suppose if the worst came to the worst and your drone hit something it may just pop out?

I think if your drone hit something the SD card popping out would be the least of your worries.

There’s zero chance it will pop out unless the drone is totalled.
Or unless you’re actually trying to get it out and the wee spring shoots it across the room. SD cards are too damn fiddly - bring back compact flash.
