Hi Folks.
So just been flying the mini 2 ,
Was switching from cine to normal ,
When in normal it seemed to lose power ,as in it wouldn’t fly any faster forward of backwards than 3 miles per hour .
Put it into sport mode and all was ok…
Brought it down changed the battery and all was ok for a bit ,then it did it again.
It did it a few times ,bit of a worry not had this before.
Can you share the airdata flight logs?
I do have flight logs but i dont know how to send them .
I had the sticks full forward and only 3mph.
Thanks.
The flight logs have data in them that will help members here diagnose what could have gone wrong.
It really is worth creating a HD free AirData account, you can upload you flight log there. We can help you do it. See if you can create a free account at https://airdata.com and let us know?
Edited to add “HD free” account type — prompted by @OzoneVibe
And it’s free for a basic Airdata account.
Ok I’m onto it now ,its downloading my flights.
Account created not sure how to Navigate around yet or send the flight logs.
Go to “My Logs” …
You’ll get a list of your logs in the panel on the left. Click on the relevant log … copy the URL and paste here …
Try this
From about 10 mins it went wrong.
OK - so you know where I’m looking …
If you click on “Notifications” …
… you get a list of all notifications/tips …
… but most of the signal issues (probably antennae not in an optimum orientation) have ended at 1 mins 41secs.
If you click on “HD Flight Player” …
… it displays a bigger map and more detailed log info …
You can click on the Play icon, and the flight is “flown” real time.
There’s a representation of the stick positions at the bottom right of the map.
Playing it through (just once) I don’t see a problem with speed in relation to stick positions.
What is strange … the logs ends (11m 9s in) with the drone at a sonar altitude (obtained from the downward sensors) of 10.2m.
It doesn’t show that the drone actually landed.
Did something strange happen at the end of this flight?
Many thanks for taking the time to look at this ,it’s really appreciated.
The flight was 12.06 mins so not sure what happened to the end of the flight logs.
I brought it back and landed normally.
I think the signal issues are due to the trees, there are a lot of trees here.
I will try a different location and see how it flys.
Thank you again.
From the general info tab for the flight, you can download a .kml (Google Earth) version of the flight, and open it in … tada … Google Earth.
This allows you to zoom in and rotate around the flight to view its proximity to trees, etc
(Although you have to use a little imagination for the trees, since these are not always shown in 3D - and not currently in the location of this flight.)
Make sure “3D Buildings” is checked … since 3D trees fall under this.
But, it does suggest that you will have been adequately clear of trees.
Initially you’d have been close enough to the drone for the the ones around take-off to have little effect … then you were well above.
Remember - the flat sides of the antennae should “face” the drone, the ends of the antennae should not “point” at it end on.
With the Mini 2 controller the whole thing should be pointed at the drone, the problems arise when looking at the screen the natural movement is to lower the angle of the controller so it’s facing the ground
Which part/side is doing the pointing?
DJI excelling themselves with crap diagrams.
The same controller diagram showing the same orientation - one , one … because they decided to leave out the all important drone location.
One has to know that they mean the drone is off to the right in the second …
Possible reasons …
- The trees between you and the drone cause the loss of signal for 4.3 seconds
- The manor house has a commercial grade wifi transmitter that caused interference
- A mixture of both the above
The climb out (Google Earth above) would suggest he was way above the trees before moving off to the location you showed.
Yes, the drone was, but LOS between him and the drone cuts through the trees.
