Mini 4 pro battery charge

I’ve had a look around for my issue but couldn’t find anything specifically related.
I’ve charged my Mini 4 Pro batteries and put away the kit for a few days. When I get out the kit again all batteries have lost about 40% of their charge. Surely this isn’t typical. None of the batteries have had that many cycles, so I’m wondering why they lose charge so quickly. Anyone else experience similar?

its normal - they are smart batteries and they go into a storage state

LiPos shouldn’t be stored at 100%, the built in BMS will be automatically discharging them after 10 days to protect them and preserve their longevity.

Here’s a good starting point if you want to tweak the search parameters to find closer matches: https://greyarro.ws/search?expanded=true&q=battery%20discharge%20in%3Atitle%20order%3Alatest

They are smart batteries and slowly discharge themselves in storage after about 3 days to about 65%. They should not be stored at full charge.

Page 63 of the DJI Mini 4 Pro user manual is also your friend (the yellow highlighting is mine):

Lithium Polymer (or Lithium-Ion Polymer) batts suffer some sort of electrolytic degradation if fully charged and left unused within 48-72 hours. It’s a gradual thing but really not good for Lipos (especially at the price we pay for them!). Dji smart functions manage this for us without the requirement for an independent charger which has a ‘storage’ option. Our bigger RC Airplanes use 6s 5200mah batts which are only ever left at storage voltage (3.8-3.9v), never fully charged !! All is well with your batts:+1:

There is a whole conditioning procedure on the DJI site concerning matrice batteries. I assume there is something similar for mini batteries.

Charge to 100%. Leave them for 24 hours, discharge to 20%. Leave for another 6 hours then charge kinda thing.

The site gives full details.

I’ll have a good read, thank you very much!
