Set up a hyperlapse waypoint route earlier, ran it through to test and all was good. Waited for it to get darker and set it off on the same route. The footage on the second route was all over the place with the drone yawing around and ending with about 2 minutes in the same position yawing around. The only settings I canged were the shutter speed and iso. Any ideas what happened there?
Hi @veltris, it looks as though you’re quite new here
Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m going to follow this in case there’s an answer - I’ve not used waypoints yet - something that’s on my radar to try.
Was you shutter speed longer than the interval? Not done many night time hyper lapses, so only a guess.
Good point, but I don’t think it will be that as the shutter was set to 1s with 2s interval. I noticed that the altitude on the second run was 7m lower.
Was the take off location the same ?
Not tried waypoints yet myself, but did read that the waypoints are tied into your starting point
Yes, takeoff was exactly the same location. Drone flew to start point and supposedly completed the route. I’ve not had a chance to try again due to wind.
Did you see what the Kp reading was when you flew the waypoint mission. I tried one last Sunday in Sussex and it was all over the place, when I looked the Kp reading was 7.88 and a Ham confirmed it’s has been the highest in 4 years over the past week or so. That would certainly explain your problem.
Really?
In 12+ years of drone flying I’ve yet to see the Kp index have any impact on any of my drones.
People I follow that fly in Iceland and Northern Norway during Aurora Borealis events have never reported an issue.
