He coaxes pine trees to stand in ranks before a family chooses one as a pet. (Remember a pine tree is just for Christmas and then needs to be thrown out in mid-January )
I thought it was all fashion, to foster a Xmas Tree now.
The farmer digs it up, pops it in a plant pot.
Customers then pay for the tree, take it home, then return it to farmer after the festive fortnight and who replants it again and then it repeats the year after.
Never heard of that, down here in the affluent south where people have more money than sense!
Perhaps it’s just us poor folk up North
When I lived in a rented house a bit further along the sea wall the shingle was six or more feet below it instead of higher than the top (the grey pathway).
Winter storms were fun with the sea smacking into the wall and spray being blown over the top of the house to create a flood in the road behind. The spray also used to lash the big bedroom picture window and come in around the ill fitting frame, run down the bedroom wall and into the living room below. We would find an inch or so of water on the floor after a particularly heavy storm. We only spent six months in that house …
Been out for 5 mile walk around Newstead Abbey , took the Neo for a short flight and grabbed a quick photo of the Waterfall with the trusty IPhone 15 Pro Max.
Do you do Deliveroo?
No

Not on hot food.
Pineapple is a fruit.
Not on hot food
Warm it through on the griddle or grill, game changer
Good on the Braai too
Thought I’d have a dabble at doing some abstract. This is our Kaira, Cane Corso, Orrell res, nr Wigan.
Taken on Samsung S8.
That’s the first Corso I’ve ever seen without the ears clipped - much better IMHO
That’s the first Corso
Yeah John, I know what you mean. A lot of people either import them from Romania already cropped and docked, or pay some dodgy git 300 quid to do it😱
As you can see, we have both, one with one without, both imported. We used to have a blue years ago with ears and tail, tail was like a baseball when it swung
I don’t agree with it, the dogs go through a LOT of pain whilst gettin done, cartilage, tissue blood vestles etc etc. Kenny was done when 12 weeks, we imported at 18. We liked him an if we hadn’t got him someone else would of. He’s a proper big soft puddin😁
They are both stunning
Can understand why working dogs have cropped tails, ears etc as its meant to protect the dog in their working roles.
Recently learnt that farmers would have the tails of their working Corgis docked to prevent them being mistaken for foxes and being shot by other farmers So sometimes a smaller amount of pain at a young age can prevent some significant pain in later life.
Not sure I totally agree with it but I do understand why it is/was done
As far as I’m concerned - all dogs are magnificent
working roles.
Yeah, agree with what you’ve said regarding working dogs, totally understander blew mate.
The Corso was originally named Canis Pugnax ( if memory serves), and apparently used by the Roman gladiators 2 centuries ago, along with hunting wild boar and protection of livestock against wolves.
Today, only really being resurrected in th 70s, the breed is used for police work in some countries and home protection as well.
As regards to needing ear cropping, they don’t. The ‘argument’ for ear cropping, is hygiene . Going on the theory that the lug hole is open and can dry out once damp, therefore not allowing bacteria to grow. To my experience, you could mould a candle out of the gunk I get out of Kennies ears fortnightly . But not Kaira’s, there prestine.
Now a days is just for Vanity
This poor unfortunate soul had to be rescued from his owners he was left outside along time with neighbours throwing him food etc over the fence @Striga brought him to attention for a rescue but I haven’t the space as the fluffy one(Chow) struts around like a peacock.
