Apparently, the Concorde Departure Building is very new, but I’m not sure just how new. Judging by the state of every other building in Barbados I would say they finished and opened it about ten minutes before we were there! Seriously though, it is very clean and modern (by Barbados standards) so can’t be that old.
Barbados.org says this……
I was there when they have there crop over celebration ( when they’ve cut down the sugar cane ) then celebrate they’re harvest or something to that effect,
My Mrs at the time said come on let’s go it’ll be a laugh ! Jeeeez I’ve never been so scared at a festival in all my life, the police had AK 47’s & other weaponry & the violence was unbelievable ( more so the girls fighting ! no joke ….
Was glad when I made it back to the apartment but have to say everything else was perfect ….
Edit : police actually might have been the army .
Been driving past this for 40+ years and today i stopped to take a pic or two, Bear pit
The Victorian structure, a sham castle facade constructed of rock-faced masonry, consists of two circular castellated turrets with round-arched entrances, linked by a wall with a gateway. On the inside, the circular bear pit is brick-lined and is linked to the facing by two tunnels. The bear was viewed by visitors by climbing spiral steps to the tops of the turrets.[1] Metal railings would have been fixed around the pit, and the bear also had a wooden pole to climb up to be fed sandwiches and buns. The zoo had some smaller cages containing birds, tortoises and monkeys, but the bear pit was the only live animal exhibit.[3] Bear-baiting had recently been outlawed by the Cruelty to Animals Act 1835, so they were kept only for display and scientific study.
Does anyone enjoy using their phones at gigs? Here are some shots taken with the Pixel 7 Pro at a few recent ones I’ve been to:
I hope you don’t mind but I edited your picture using the iPhone cleanup function to get rid of the sun spot. It’s one of my bugbears with the coating on the iPhone camera so it’s great the cleanup works so well so fix that.
As recompense here’s a photo I took of Kingsbarns beach in Fife at the weekend.
HaHa!!, no I don’t mind at all! Nice job! Beautiful view there in Fife. The weather the last few days has been really nice with little wind. Ideal for drones. Are all those blocks in the foreground, brought in by machinery?
I like the chimney!
I’m not sure if the rocks were placed there naturally or not. It’s a very rocky part of the coast, I wanted to fly there this weekend but the wind was too strong.
Here is a link to some information about the beach.
It looks like a fossicker’s paradise.
Guess where @FoleyMrs and I are lol. We turned left instead of right as Birmingham ha ha ha.
204 miles just to buy a retro computer.
As one does
Pic ?
Buffet king in the metro centre, top buffet.
Enjoy
So the birds, tortoises and monkeys were dead? (did not read citation)
