Love the Lakes. Stayed in Stickle Cottage about 8 Years ago and did Pavey Arc amongst others. Met an 86 Year old up there. He had used the easier route up passed Stickle Gyll to get up but hope I’m as fit as he was at 86!
Started at bowfell with some easy scrambling, then we headed south we followed the up and down ridge to crinkle crags, we then followed the path to our final peak and the summit of pike ‘o’ blisco was very windy that day.
Got Bowfell to do as coming off Crinkle Crags sister-in-law agrivated a recovered broken leg injury. We did Pavey Arc, Thunacar Knott, Pike-of-stickle, Harrison Stickle and Langdale Fell I think…was a few years back. ![]()
I’m over in Scoland for a few days. It was chucking it down today in Pitlochry but I managed to get a short walk up to Bruar Falls near Blair Atholl when it was only raining lightly.
Had to share this one, ive mentioned in the past about my oldest son having a passion for photography and editing. (Spared on by photo editing comps on this very forum)
We bought him a Fiji bridge camera last year ans as hes 10 he fot his first mobile phone for his last birthday and is forever snapping images.
He regularly asks me for advice on his images or will just discuss certaim compositions he likes while we are out and about.
While on a walk this evening he asks could he borrow my phone as his was at home as he seen a composition he really likes and want to snap it.
It made me realise that maybe the student is becoming the master ![]()

It happens I’m afraid. Introduced my Daughter to a camera aged about 8. Now 17 years later she has a Photography Degree (and a lot of my lenses).
Encourage him BUT I feel he is already working on the ‘May i borrow…’. Just a friendly warning
