Yeah i know now. i didnt then i just got a warning, Park Ranger did point out a couple other places where i wouldnt be so lucky to get a warning if i get caught on Trust property flying around.

Thanks it was 1st go at Helix.

Depends where you were standing. The NT boundary runs fairly close to the castle, there’s a lot of non NT land nearby:

Edited your post to create the embedded player for the YouTube video.

You’d pasted …

All that’s needed is …

That’s the URL, on its own line, no spaces before/after.

Thanks

i was sat in that clearing just below the carp park on this Map

Looks like you may have been just in NT land, but I’d be more worried about the built up area to the left of the road, it looks well inside 150m.

There was only a few houses there & apart from when I took the video & pics I was flying between 50-80m which according to the rules was adequate. The 150m rule as I understand it is Congested areas like towns & cities and or Concerts or sporting events. Now if I’m interpreting these rules wrongly then please tell me the right way, I’m new to all this so I’m here to learn especially if I’m wrong.

Maybe someone else can clarify buy my understanding is that the CAA define a congested area as “Congested Area - This is defined in relation to a city, town or settlement: any area which is substantially used for residential, commercial, industrial or recreational purposes.”

This is actually being discussed over on this thread - Flying in Northern Ireland - #19 by milkmanchris
