Hi Michael / @caprimick , and welcome to GADC. :+1:

Quite a significant number of our members also own the MP … so you are amongst good company.

If you haven’t already, take a look at the Map of Members and you’ll see there are a few other members in your neck of the woods, some of whom I’m sure will come and say Hi.

(Don’t forget to add yourself to that map :+1: : How to add yourself to the Members Map )

The forum’s search functions are a very efficient way to find previous threads and posts that might already have covered topics in which you are interested in learning more or answer that niggling question but, when this doesn’t turn up what you’re after, there’s a wealth of knowledge amongst the members, so ask away over on #questions-and-answers.

Also, if you’ve not seen it, check out our map of places where members have flown in the past … which, obviously, doesn’t necessarily mean they are still OK to fly and, as always, any pilot needs to check that everything’s OK before flying at any of them.

Please also take a moment to look at the Membership Levels section on our FAQ .

Welcome aboard!

Hello and welcome.

Welcome to Grey Arrows @caprimick - glad you could join us mate

I know you don’t have one currently @caprimick but if ever you get another one, or if @stevesb you ever need a hand, I’ve rebuilt the odd 70’s Ford or two in my time…

From Mk1 Escorts

To Anglia 105E’s

Right through to Mk2 Granadas:

We could get a North West car restoration project on the go

Ya touched my heart with picture 3 Rich !, my first car was an Ford Anglia 105e Estate, the first of my re-builds !.
Lovely old bus that was, perfect shagging waggin !

Now that’s a clean looking mk1
Mine was a 2.8 injection turbo tecnicks in black I have a photo of it on ford turbo site if it’s still there I’ll have to look it up a post the picture

That was my first car to lol

Those pics take me back a bit lol I remember rebuilding my escort engine in my living room my mrs didn’t like it but a mans goto do sort of thing he he he

The Ford Capri’s sad demise……….

I spent 6 months in my spare time refurbishing it outside in my Dads driveway.
My brother was a highly skilled sheet metalworker, and worked with me at the Factory.
So fitting new wings, front valance, new bonnet, back wheel arches, was a labour of love for him.
I done all the engine change, and new servo assisted brakes, together with anything else I thought needed doing (I was quite an expert mechanic in my younger days).
I bought it for £495, and spent another £600 on the re-build.

Drove (posed !) around in it for 3 months and a friend I worked with offered to buy it at a ridiculous price £1500 !, a fortune in those days !.
His father worked at the famous “Lotus” factory at Hethel (5 miles from here) they had a test track on the site (and still have).
He decided (only 2 weeks after I sold it to him!) to take it on the track and “see how she went”
He lost control, on the second bend, rolled it 3 times and promptly wrote it off !!!.
Needless to say, I was sick to my stomach when he came to work the next day (battered and bruised) and told me what he had done.
For “2 pins” I could have punched his F@ckin lights out !.

Learnt more about some of the members than I ever knew.

Hi, I’m Gary from Blackpool, I’m very new to drones, any heads-up as to were to practice flying my drone any help would be a great help

A great place to fly and practice is over the road from the model village the field is very open and your away from any obstacles and can clearly see your drone as you get to know your drone

Welcome to GADC Mick

I take it you mean Lawson’s field, I was told that its a big no no as its reserved for the air ambulance for Victoria hospital
