New Crawley Member

Hi,

I have recently joined and am totally new to drones. I haven’t even flown the one I recently bought, but I have got my Operator ID and my Flyer ID this week.

I was wondering if there was a member, living in or near Crawley, West Sussex, who would be willing to take me out to a place they know is good for drone flying, and help me on my first drone flight?

Qinux K8.

Living I Crawley, near Gatwick Airport, limits the amount of places one can fly. I have seen that on the member’s map, two places have been recomended, but they were dated 2021 and things may have changed. I will go and check them out though.

I guess, I am just a bit nervous about flying it in the wrong place, even though I will look out for signs.

I am sure it will be fine, but just felt that if there was a person, local to me, who would be happy to take me along to a place they fly at, it would be helpful.

Hi Nick I am in Burgess Hill and fly all over Kent and Sussex and there are loads of places to fly. What drone to you have and how far do you want yo travel and I am sure I can give you some ideas and possibly meet up

I’m not too far away and there are a few places to fly near me in Bletchingley although i do have to be cautious because of Redhill aerodrome. I can fly out of my front garden but not my back garden :rofl::rofl:. Happy to meet if I have free time what drone do you have?

Thanks for the welcome. I have recently retired and have a car and so I can pretty much go anywhere within reason. I am totaly new to this hobby and did not want to spend a lot on it, incase it was just a fad, so I bought a Qinux K8.

Failing that it only one hour drive from proposed meet-up.

I have recently retired and decided to buy a drone, but did not want to spend a lot incase it was just a fad and so I bought a Qinux K8. If I find I love it, I will then buy something a bit better. I have a car and so am happy to drive a bit further afield, if required.

Afternoon Blue, I’m new to the drone thing but getting there, I live in Crawley when not at work and wondering if you have any recommended places to go.

Just a little bit confused as I know its mostly in a FRZ but I often see flight plans on Altitude Angel with people booking in flights with drones. Sadly no user name on them.
