Flying a drone is great fun but sometimes you feel the need to have a purpose for doing so and the Challenges category provides some great reasons for you to fly.
There are regular challenges which are open to all, that attract members of all abilities. Support, advice and constructive criticism is freely available; still photography, video and the techniques for editing both are involved in the challenges. Suggestions, for subjects or for complete challenges, are always welcome - take a look in the Challenges category for more information.
We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the Questions & Answers category.
And finally, if you are new to drones and wondering what it’s all about, have a look at Resources for a beginner.
I’m afraid I don’t drive anymore - turns out if you have a history of recent spicy naps, they don’t trust you to drive… can’t imagine why . (Epilepsy is another gift the stroke gave )
I am very lucky that my long suffering partner is very supportive and will help me travel a reasonable distance, so will definitely be looking at the maps to pick a few spots!
Welcome to the group. Hope you enjoy it here. When you go flying maybe would consider taking a large take off and landing mat. Should you fall into any health problems which may reqire help from your partner they can just press the return to home button or a worse case scenario the drone will just hover and when the battery gets critical it will return to home itself. Sometimes return to home can be a little off by a foot or two so a large mat will help so it will come back.
I am sure there are other flyers in the MK area who will also come and join you on a meet. This club has some amazing members and there are some that go the extra mile.
Hope you get plenty of fun with your drone and hope that your health does not interfere.
Once again, welcome to the group. Hope you enjoy it here.
If you are able to travel why not come to the BIg Meet in June, or September, or both. I believe it is around 20 miles from you. It’s a great weekend to have a whiz around with your drone. I have physical problems too, and love to fly my Mini 3 Pro as it allows me to see where I wouldn’t be able to walk to, so I totally get what you mean. @Foley (Russ, my hubby) recently won a DJI Neo on one of the GADC comps, and so he also purchace me one, however with the lovely UK weather we have not been able to fly them yet (well Russ has a couple of time for a few mins). Hope to see you around the forum, and maybe in person one day.
