Just realised that the EM group had a meet up at the end of October. I was unaware this was taking place and would have gone had I known about it. As someone who is not very familiar with social media I do not know how I was supposed to know it was planned. Is there a setting that I need to set to find out? I get the email that shows the summary but I donā€™t always check every post that shows, often just following links that arouse my interest.
Despite regularly unsubscribing to marketing style emails I get around 50 a day and dozens of notifications so it is very easy in all the dross to overlook things that are important

We canā€™t control how much notification is given for an eventā€¦ sometimes these meets are relatively short notice (waiting for weather forecasts is often the main reason), and that can reduce the chance of seeing the thread.

However, the logs show that you logged in each of the days between the post being made and the meet date ā€¦ so you must have overlooked it on each of those 6 days. We canā€™t really help you with that.

We try and ensure that the relevant local groups are @, and that was an oversight this time. That would have created a notification against your icon (top right), and an email (I believe), but if GADC emails are part of your lost in the ā€œdrossā€, then thereā€™s a chance that would have been missed too. We canā€™t really help you with that, either.

Here is what I do.
Go to the Meetups groupā€¦

And set the ā€œfirst postā€ alertā€¦

And I get an email every time someone posts a new topic in Meetups. Obviously only some will be of interest, but at least Iā€™ll get notified.

Unfortunately it is another email that you will have to look out for. Maybe you could set a filter on your mail client that moves all incoming mails from ā€œnoreply@greyarro.wsā€ to a special folder so it wonā€™t get lost in the noise?

Edit: Ha, ha. I thought I had deja vuā€¦

Doh! blame my incompetence then :confounded: GADC Emails arenā€™t what I consider dross, but sometimes I just get overwhelmed! As of today I have 630 emails in my inbox going back to Feb 24 that I would like to read, these have escaped the delete button, but have something in the topic or opening paragraph that piqued my interest. I suppose belonging to 4 camera clubs, GADC & Mavic Pilots.com, a number of other online forums/ bloggers, and many You tube channels is all a bit too much - but I am reluctant to ditch any. I will however try @Earwig suggestion of the ā€œFirst post alertā€ and hoefully not miss the next meet up

Sounds like youā€™re doing the digital version of newspaper hoarding @Rayandbar

These are problems of the world we now live in.

Ever since a friend missed (by just 24 hours!) an email in his spam folder, informing him heā€™d won a 2 week 5 :star:, all paid holiday in the Caribbean, with a load of spending money ā€¦ I am now an avid checker of my spam folder ā€¦ even though Iā€™ve not entered any competitions.
