PDRA01 / GVC and training - any tips

These are not made of bricks.

Actually - you probably would. The rock can crack chips off, or crack, bricks … fractured skulls are not good.

I hit a patio door with a Quanum drone (like a Phantom), broke the drone, didn’t mark the glass

Not too sure about that - a pigeon is pretty flexible and would ā€˜bounce’ (then fall I guess if it’s knocked out, poor old thing*) but a drone is pretty solid!

  • then again, I do think of pigeons as flying rats.

Thats the one that is a rebadged or vice versa cheerson CX20?

QR350, bag of shite!

Thanks for all the advice here people. I ended up contacting UAVHub directly - real professional outfit, great advice prior to me booking a course. They could easily have sold me a GVC course however after some conversation they advised the A2CofC would be enough to do what I want to do.

The signing-up ā€˜process’, course materials and presentations are excellent. Clear, well structured, chunked-down nicely. They also steer you towards the exam in a good way - not letting you book it too early. They also take into account the other attributes needed to get the A2CofC which is not just the exam, but steering you towards proving a certain degree of flying - nothing to onerous - prior to booking the exam (it seems that part of obtaining A2CofC is that you prove this as well as passing the exam).

All good stuff - not done the exam quite yet but looks like I’ll have the A2CofC soon!

Thanks again for all your help

Ah, thanks PingSpike. One rule of the Universe is that if you take your time looking around, take your time and thenbuy something (anything), a day later someone will pop up and say it’s cheaper down the road!

No worries, next time
