Oh Horrors, Gordon. The Stour was looking great.
Is it trapped in the tree, or gone in the river subsequently?
If you need any help looking, I’m only down the road at Hengistbury.
I’ve not flown for ages but my MP is here for search duty.

Ouch!! damn trees!

did it fall out in the end into the drink?

It dropped into the water …I asked a couple of kayakers to have a look where it fell but no luck.

I was just bringing it down to have a sweep up the river too…

If DJI treat it as a flyaway I may have to hire a boat and use the fishing net to get it …but will see what they say …

Thanks for the offer of help …appreciated …

No need to hire a boat, I can sort that.
Not sure how deep the river is there, we can go at low tide to help a bit.
You have my sympathy having lost my first MP in the sea at Avon Beach.

Pretty much the same as how I lost my first drone ( Mavic Air ) - grabbed by a tree and ended up in Lancaster Canal :frowning:

This is why trees and/or water give me such anxiety!

Darn bad luck that. Hope salavage of it is possible.
(I am reminded what John Wayne said about shooting a rifle
…Wind and elevation Mr…wind and elevation)

Just got too close to the trees and didn’t allow for their branches being whipped out by the wind … being a willow it’s a bit more mobile in the wind than other trees …

Live and learn really…

I lost my Mini 2 back in March under similar circumstances. I also crashed into a tree and the drone was lost in the adjoining lake with no chance of retrieval. I made a claim under DJI refresh as a Flyaway.

After a payment of £209, DJI sent me a new drone and battery via their offices in the Netherlands. I too am now a little more circumspect when flying over water with trees in the vicinity.

They are telling me it’s a flyaway and I am arguing the case with them saying it didn’t fly away anywhere just dropped in water …doubt i will get anywhere…

Might need that boat and my big net …or a big magnet (would that lift it?)

What was the wind gust speed? It looks a little lively!
A tree grabbed mine in similar circumstances - I now pay close attention to gusts!
