Is the RC-N1 as supplied with the Mini 2 compatible with the Mavic 2 zoom?
I realise the standard one supplied with the 2 Zoom is different but both drones use Occusink as far as I am aware.

No, but you can use the Smart Controller on both, (and the Air 2, Air 2S).
