Release of DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 Public Beta

@crapflyer Thats probably why you had issues then, Eugene, as I understand it, it’s for Studio only. Could be wrong though, often am!

“We are pleased to announce the release of DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 Public Beta 2. This release is available at no charge for existing customers from our support web site.”

Both Free and Studio are available in Beta 2.

@OzoneVibe Proved me wrong again, Dave! I only got the alert and message for the Studio version.

They always release both at every version.

Will be interesting to see what they’ve done with the curves. I wasn’t a complete fan of the update, and wished they’d have given us the option to use the old and new method.

REALLY not enjoying the UI layout changes when working on a landscape project. The basis of efficient working is know where to expect to see things … and when they’re not there it’s a pain!

@OzoneVibe Yeh, Dave, I know what you mean. I’ve messed about with mine until it looked similar.

I’m having a mare rendering at moment it keeps failing! :exploding_head:

Even the colour tab? How do you swap the positions of the viewer and node window?

Yeh. I used the Workspace menu and the burger icons until I got close to how I work. Maybe different to you, Dave. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Mine had got real laggy lately, and the latency was making almost impossible to edit. Didn’t have the isue with Beta 19. Hopefully this may help.

Not had any performance issues .. even on my steam powered laptop.

They don’t seem to have added a solution for the totally different layouts for landscape v portrait, though.

I opened a “portrait” project to check, and initially I though they had.

Then I remembered I converted it to landscape to do the grading, and converted it back to render .. but somehow didn’t save that last change.
THAT’s how much the portrait layout annoys me!

@OzoneVibe TBH, Dave, I never edit in portrait as I detest it. Any shorts I do for YouTube are just promo’s for my full length vids so are remixes and the quality is good enough for HD. :hugs:

Sometimes people want me to edit their portrait vids … :stuck_out_tongue:

I got prompted to update Beta 4 again today. There was a bug in the last apparently fixed by uploading the newer Beta 4 version. Doh!

The size of the program(s) .. I’m more often amazed there aren’t “issues” more often.

Keeping a track of the code for almost 8gb of downloaded installable must be a nightmare.

Been wiped out all day with a migraine so the laptop hasn’t even been switched on as yet.

.. and, it is Beta. :winking_face_with_tongue:
