Congratulation @Leylo1971 and @Onanist Great shots by both of you, and well done to every one how took the time to entered
Well done @Leylo1971 and @Onanist some great entries
Sorry for the delay in posting the official results, thank you to those who worked out the winners under their own steam
The pride of our results room, the Pentium tower, experienced a RUD early yesterday evening and we have just managed to get the back-up 286, which was languishing in the basement , booted and ready to roll.
So here are the official results:
Just pushed into third place by our tied winners was @jon1 with a fine shot of Lyn Ogwen in North-west Wales, a shallow lake into which Sir Bedivere was reputed to have cast Excalibur after King Arthurâs last battle at Camlann. Great work Jon!
Then we have the two first-place winners - @Onanist (Andy) who got up early enough to capture the sunrise over Elrig Loch in Dumfries and Galloway, something that must have been familiar to naturalist and author Gavin Maxwell (Ring of Bright Water) whose family built Elrig House on their 17,000-acre estate nearby.
Joint winner @Leylo1971 (Ady) was another early bird. After initial qualms and joining the discussion about the definition of a lake he did the sensible thing, photographed a body of water and put it to the rest of GADC for judgement. So his picture of the Entwistle Reservoir, Bolton, came equal first in the Lakes competition.
Well done to all and apologies for the late result
I got 4th I think?? well done to everyone!
You did get 4th.
Itâs obviously worth your while to improve on that in the current round of RTF - Patterns!
thanks!! I will try!!
@jon1. Your lakes pic reminds me of a Llanberis one I took last year. Brilliant photo that, shows lots of scale
Is that the Avon Dam @Banksy71 ?
Cheers Ady. Bit of confusion over the targets this time. Iâm getting better at it. This was a last minute decision, it was going to be Bala lake but my mate/neighbour @Martin22 got there before me
Some cracking sunrises there guys.
No it is called Burrator Reservoir in Yelverton
Ah ha, yes of course. I used to live in Ivybridge, walked around both of them many times but it was a good few years ago now.
âwe have just managed to get the back-up 286, which was languishing in the basement , booted and ready to rollâ
I doubt the 286 would have the capacity to type this message, nevermind sift through all that lot. My first homebuild was a 386 with less memory and storage capacity than my wife
