On ios or android you can use a combination of power button and volume buttons etc, just check your model online.
@CalebCarterVideo
Yeah i get that but when my phone is in the remote holder i cannot access both sides of the phone.
I assumed that you had found a different way.
What phone do you have?
@FFf
Iphone 14 max pro
Fair enough, can’t help with apple I’m afraid.
Screen record whilst doing the flight, unless you’ve already done it, ( the flight )
Isn’t the height in the photo’s exif data?
@Kirky
Of course, screen record. Thanks
Above sea level, you would need to know the ground level at that location and subtract it
I’d have thought it’s the same as shown on screen, relative from TOAL.
Im pretty sure on ios you can have a floating home button which gives you accessibility controls including screenshots. I think?
Its GPS data
The normal ChallCom member that administers this particular comp is off their feet for a little while. So in the meantime it is being sorted by his rather slack admin team, no doubt we shall be severely punished on his return!!! But in the meantime we are relying on you guys, our wonderful and honest membership, to submit worthy entries and stick to the rules that have been set. Please be nice to us, otherwise we may be beaten with a large and shitty stick on The Return of the King
It’s barometric, set to 0 on take-off, which is why you can have a -ve altitude.
Not for the Exif data its GPS from sea level like i said before
Hey siri take screen shot
Or set up accessible taps to back of phone
Even I forgot that, just tried it
@milkmanchris Thanks Chris i cannot believe I’d forgotten that one as i’m constantly telling people about it. Doh!
Mine was of a tidal area of the Thames. The Challcom are all seeing and all knowing and very wise and fair. I know they could check tide tables and EXIF data and even ask me to share my AirData.
I also suspect if I pinky swear my controller said 120m on the screen, and my photo passes the sniff test, it’ll likely be accepted in to the compo.
In this round you had a choice of Follies, Clocks, and 400ft Directly Below. Who knew the chosen subject would create such arguments between 400ft and 120mtrs? Well, if the CAA can’t tell us which should be used (both are stated in the code) then what chance have us lot got?
We have had a good haul of very worthy entries, so thanks to all for making the effort.
Onto the poll which shall remain open for 48 hours from time of opening.
You may vote for one, all, some, or none of the images.
