Thats exactly what i used to do, i only live behind pleasure beach so it was handy, yes you are correct 1 week slots
Sounds like your just a couple of blocks north of me (Harrowside area).
And back to the Challenge!
results time - this round we have two people in third place: @FrameTheSky with a somewhat strange hole on Painswick golf course
Paiswick is quite possibly unique. It has 5 holes which go through an Iron Age Hill Fort - that’s 2200 years old. Painswick was laid out in 1891 and is a natural golf course with the bare minimum of earth movement. It’s an inland links course but not a bunker in sight.

Tieing in third is regular competitor Jennifer Mason - @TheLittleRedJen with a black and white shot taken on Boxing Day at Stratford-upon-Avon Parkway Station. No train services hence no staff to chase her off or call the Transport Police about overflying the track ![]()
Second is Andy Green - @AndyGoose who has captured Chepstow Cenotaph on New Year’s Eve afternoon, with a fortuitous shaft of sunlight illuminating the memorial itself while the steps leading up to it remain cold and grey.
Chepstow War Memorial, in Beaufort Square, Chepstow, Wales, commemorates the men of the town who died in the First and Second World Wars. It was designed by Eric Francis, a locally-born architect, in an uncommon Neoclassical style. Chepstow War Memorial was designated a Grade II listed structure in 1975.
Which leads us to this round’s winner, @kvetner who chose to photograph another memorial to the dead of a battle, this time the Petrloo massacre on August 16, 1819, in St. Peter’s Field, Manchester, where cavalry charged a peaceful crowd of around 60,000 people demanding parliamentary reform; eighteen died.
Well done to the four of you and well done to all who created such an interesting and varied set of images on the subject of Steps and Stairs. The current Challenge, Statues, can be found here
Well done everyone, great shots all round ![]()
all amazing work gives me a lot of “food for thought” on what can be achieved. thanks for sharing.
A fantastic selection. I’ve been put of the loop for the last couple of challenges for various reasons, but hope to be back with the next one.
I might have been able to do this one, at a push, but looked at the first few entries and decided didn’t stand a chance!
