Skiathos Island, Greece

I’ve been researching permissions for flying drones on the Island of Skiathos, Greece. Currently I can’t access Greece’s drone assist maps as I’m awaiting registration.

I looked at Drone assist map (UK access) and saw that Skiathos is completely in a red zone, within which is a yellow zone covering the airport.

I searched for drone footage of Skiathos and discovered clips on Shutterstock, some of which were filmed within a mile or so of the airport, others further away.
It’s a small island, only about 9 miles long.

Here’s a link to one clip, which shows the airport runway at the top of screen.

Has anyone ever flown on Skiathos? If so am I misinterpreting the Drone Assist map/symbols?

Any clarity would be helpful. I don’t want to fall foul of the Greek authorities or be like the drone operator/tourist in Tenerife.

Many Thanks, in advance.

Do not ever use Drone Assist for anything abroad. Its not supposed to be used that way.
ALWAYS use the countries own site/map.

Skiathos is entirely a yellow zone which means all flights need approval 1 week beforehand and via email (which they rarely, if ever respond to).

Stock agencies will just turn up illegal flights or old footage before restrictions. Doesnt mean you can fly. They dont/cant police permits from contributors.
