Southend, Mull of Kintyre

Spent some time down at my Brother In Laws farm down on the tip of the Mull of Kintyre.

The weather, while it had been a little breezy over the weekend, the Bank Holiday Monday was absolutely perfect flying whether. The Island in the picture is called Ailsacraig (faint and small).

The island in the above picture is Sanda Island.

Were you tempted to fly out to Sanda Island?

It’s too far under the rules. It’s about a mile, I did my 500 metre limit though. The weather was absolutely perfect though.

Cracking photos @ScottishYorkshireMan :+1:

Hi SYM,
As an Argyll ex resident I can vouch for the unsurpassed flying to be had there.
I’ve great footage over the Clyde Estuary and round some of the small towns. No hassle, no interference, no pollution - brilliant!
Look forward to more pics/video.

Cheers,

Melvyn

Hi @Mel and welcome to Grey Arrows

Hi PS
Just been looking through some of this summers Scottish pics with a view to luring some of you southerners up here to fly/film. I’ve rarely come across any problems anywhere here both in cities and country, as long as you are sensible and plan carefully. There are very few flyers here apart from at major events.
Hope you enjoy these…

Cheers,

Melvyn
