Spark stopper won’t fit

I’m looking for an alternative spark stopper.

I recently purchased the VIFLY ShortSaver 2 Smoke Stopper, to use with my Speedybee Bee25, which uses 4s batteries.

Because the power input plug (XT30) is fixed to the body of the frame and that fact the cable from the battery is only 50-60mm in length, it’s impossible to fit the spark stopper when the battery is mounted in the frame.

The battery mount on the Bee25 can be rotated through 90 degrees, so that larger (dimensions) batteries can used.

I searched the forum and google but I’m unable to find an alternative.

Anyone got any recommendations?

That’s a smoke stopper.

You don’t/can’t fly with those anyway, so just put the battery to the side of the quad when using it.

You should not have props on anyway so that won’t matter.

They’re for testing builds on the workbench.

A spark stopper is something else entirely and is not needed.

Thanks Richard.

So when I initially plug in my battery to fly, is it normal for an audible spark / crack?

Will that do any damage?

Yes for 4S and above… 3S and below it doesn’t usually.

It shouldn’t do, no… It is unnerving, but it’s expected.

Oh… if you want more proof that you don’t need/want a spark stopper (you do want a smoke stopper)… then this video goes on and on and on in more detail than you’ll ever need about what they do… etc…
