That was lucky

Been out today with my spark, 3 batteries. Just learning the basics of photos, so was flying around alot over sea and river flats. Took some nice photos, used 2 batteries up, on last battery, flew over sand dunes and grasslands. Took. Off as normal then about 10 seconds in, battery fell out and spark came crashing down. Lost the battery in long grass but luckily found drone. Glad I was over land. New battery needed and one of thoose clips to keep them in. Anyone experienced this before, is it a common thing?

I seem to recall some you tube info about this sort of thing. At first it was assumed the batteries weren’t ‘clicked in’ correctly until some found the clips that latch the battery in can become broken or distorted.

Really? I’m so glad it didn’t happen over the water. Bye bye spark. Lol. Will have to I vest in one of those bands to keep battery in place.

There is a lot of great info on you tube. I think 51Drones has a warning about the battery clips on you tube.

Will have to check it out. Cheers

A long (re-usable) cable tie will work. and weighs only grams.
