The Daily Photo Thread

I’d like to tell you that I got this through careful planning and expert timing but it was a just happy accident. It is a frame from a hyperlapse I was recording. I didn’t even see it at the time only on playback. DJI Mini 4Pro, above my back yard, Sydney NSW.

I was originally going to use this hotel in North Queensferry as my entry for the Derelict challenge, but even though it has been closed for about 10 years it’s still in good shape. How annoying.

So I have entered a different shot of the old primary school in Inverkeithing.

We stayed in the albert hotel in 2010, great view of the bridge from our room, such a shame to see it like that now :sad_but_relieved_face:

Nice shots btw :+1:

That’s my usual parking spot when I head over to photograph the bridges. Always thought it looked in decent nick and was a shame it was closed.

@Nikonitis Great vlog of your hike, Patrick. Would have left a comment but you have them switched off.

Pulled calf muscles are no joke on a hike. I pulled both mine whilst halfway across Crib Goch. Just didn’t do enough stretches before we started in 28°C! Live and learn!

Don’t think the fender is going to help that vessel much.:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Oh good grief! What a place to do it!! Hopefully no Mountain rescue required?

I’ve checked the YT settings and it shows comments as switched on. I’m not sure if there is something else I’ve missed.

Cracking image. I have to say a lot of electrical storm images come out of your country. It is just a perfect place to see them. I have tracked storms here in UK with a modicum of success, literally having the camera on Bulb and hoping for the best!

Fortunately some American students gave me some electrolytes and after a 10 minute rest I was able to hobble on. The pinnacles were a bit of a challenge but got easier as I went on! :hugs:

@Nikonitis I just get an advert for ‘made for kids’ videos, where the comments box is usually accessed? Don’t get the same on any other vids I watched? Have you got the ‘Made for Kids’ button enabled?

Drone shots from this mornings early Whitby visit, nice to see just how different it looks from pre - post dawn

Thank you for the comment, much appreciated. Yeah, we had probably the most intense storm I’ve seen since being here about a month ago. The lightning was just constant for 15 mins or so, I was dying to get outside with a camera but was stuck on a late Teams meeting for work! The bulb trick only works at night of course ha ha. I use an Android app sometimes which takes a continual series and continually deletes them so you’ve always got a buffer of say 50 photos spanning the last few seconds. When you see a flash you press the stop button, hopefully you’ve caught one. I get the occasional good one but it suffers from rolling shutter problems so not perfect. Anyway, we keep trying.

That sunset shot through the pier is awesome

Sunset and low tide at New Brighton, Wirral.

Didn’t have my normal camera with me so used my drone for some low level shots too.

Cheers

I’m not sure how far off the water I was, but I was stood on the top deck of the pier and it was pretty much high tide, the flight log shows -3.6m
