I typically try to stay away from FRZ I’ve never flown in one, or had to ask permission, however I’ve found a location & I’m wandering how I contact the airport if that’s who I need to contact / speak to,

I am sure someone with more experience will reply.
But don’t be concerned.
They will work with drone pilots.
You just need to email in advance, maybe fill out a simple form, call the tower before take off and also when down.
They do not bite and are very friendly.
The only issue is often finding the right person!

Drone Scene can be your pal here - as it should be for every flight planning need.
Here is a Shobdon airfield from the Drone Scene Map:
Now zoomed in and clicked on the red airfield marker. That brings up information including, in this case, a contact number for Shobdon - give them a ring and explain what you want to do. They may take details over the phone or be a bit more formal and ask you to email or to fill in a form on the web.
Things they will want to know:
Potential times and date of flight (Give yourself a four hour window)
Centre of the flight area - latitude and longitude - Drone Scene will give
you that,
Radius of flight area
Maximum altitude you intend to fly
Type of aircraft.
On the day:
Ring them on arrival and state a more accurate flight time
Keep to the agreed plan (They may well be able to see you - visual or radar!)
When finished ring them to say that the exercise is ended and make sure to thank them - that makes it easier next time you fly in their FRZ!

Yes I’ve just submitted permission with NATS in the link you provided which is very straight forward just got to get the green light now then it will rain on the said day 
Edit : this is quite good for learning / understanding the process of having to maybe do this in the future & to understand more of the process, as said I tend to stay away from these places but a good learning curve at least !

It’s been a quiet day today; it always is at the beginning of a Birthday Challenge and Treasure Hunt. However, this year we have left the start line very quickly and the Leaderboard is growing apace- from 3 to 4 on only the third day and none of the contestants has yet dropped a point!
How soon will your name appear on there?
Behind the scenes the judges are still busy with messages from potential competitors about interpretations of the subjects, we suspect many others are closeted with Mr. Google and his maps, the WickyPede and the Historic Buildings registers of their respective countries.
So today the Leaderboard has been brought to you by our trusted interns who have laboured throughout the day to ensure its accuracy. We know they have had their noses to the grindstone as it has been very quiet everytime we were forced to walk past their squalid little cubicles.

Don’t suppose there’s the possibility of an additional bonus point for having a road, river, railway and a canal passing under the bridge? 
Maybe add a footpath, a cyclepath, a byway open to all traffic, a private drive and a go-kart track and we will consider it.

Again, Drone Scene is your pal in flight planning. NOTAMs automatically appear when they are announced, a few days before the flight restriction comes into force. Then disappear as soon as the restriction is lifted.

Week 2 Starting July 28th - 6 or more Orange boats in one shot
Week 3 Starting August 4th - 5 or more Yellow pub or cafe umbrellas in one shot
Week 4 Starting August 11th - 4 or more dogs being walked on a village Green
Week 5 Starting August 18th - 3 or more Blue tents
Week 6 Starting August 25th - Indigo night - 2 drone photos taken at night in different locations
Week 7 Starting September 1st - One or more Violet cars
It would be unfair to those who, for whatever reason, start the Challenge a week or so after it commences.
Contrary to popular belief, we are not monsters.
So you have seven weeks to find seven red vans, six to find six blue boats and so on down to just one week to photograph a violet car - something you may well have spotted parked in a driveway on your previous travels …
