Appreciated Saint Chris of Eaton
Hi Andrew,
You are not alone, I just did the same thing and posted without checking.
Easy done! (TWICE!!!
).
Nice camera work and editing!
Glad you at least got 2 flights in!
Maggie not keen on you flying it indoors around her bed whilst she recovered?

No one has mentioned battery charging in the states.
Is there any problem with lower voltage?
Depends if your mains charger is multi-voltage. DJI ones are.
Yeah!
Thanks Dave, good to hear.
Thanks Chris,
Ordered the battery holders.
Does the handset need to be kept out of the hold as well?
GYes, I would not let anything of any value go in the hold.
I put my drone in my Canon Camera bag, together with the camera, also the remote.
The batteries were in a small suitcase which had more camera gear in it.
In fact the small suitcase was rammed with just about every electrical device I took on the holiday!.
It was an art to fit everything in it.
Luckily the airline had no restriction of weight on hand luggage, a lot of them are max 10 kegs.
My case weighed 20 kgs with all the gear in it, nearly as much as my hold suitcase !!!.
The above was for a flight to Bridgetown, Barbados.
Check your Airlines hand luggage restrictions, and you should be fine.
Thanks Saint Chris!
Hi guys,
Feel free to move to question and answers if in the wrong place.
I’m going back to Florida in 2021 and booking the holiday today got me thinking about the MP coming along for the ride.
Has anyone visited the states with there bird? All info welcome
I’m guessing to start I’ll have register with the FAA… what else will on the agenda and is it worth it?
Thanks
Search #Travel-advice-for-anyone-taking-their-drone-abroad for USA works, too.
Thanks Dave, appreciate it
Some really helpful advice on this thread thanks for the pointer
For anyone going to the USA, if you take a Mini 2 you will not need to register the drone as under 250g
However you will still need to do the TRUST test. I did it via this link. Very simple.
Recreational flyers rules are here.
However I did read that people who posted videos on Youtube etc. were considered commercial and therefore come under the Part 107 requirement.
You can register heavier drones here.
Another useful site for scoping out airspace around your intended area of flight in the USA is https://skyvector.com
I’m on holiday in Florida at the moment and if it stops raining, I’ll fly my Mini. There is a rocket launch on Thursday which would provide some cool footage!
Trying to register with the FAA so I can take my bird to Florida soon and I’m stumped on the first page ![]()
My phone number, how do you enter it? I’ve tried
- 07447 *******
- +44 7447 *******
- +44 07447 *******
All of which are invalid. ![]()
Baring in mind it says: This needs to be a number that you can be contacted immediately during operation hence its my mobile.
Do you need to register a mini 2 with the FAA to fly in NYC. Maybe there next week but mostly in Manhatten so imagine it’s all out of bounds… (Not checked maps yet)
I used a USA number.
I don’t think a UK number works.
I’ll message you directly shortly
A lot of it is prohibited around there.
You will need to sit and pass the TRUST and display this on your drone.
It’d be great if you could share publicly?
I’m sure other people will go to USA at some point in the future ![]()
