Whether for me today at work (Warrington area) was 28C in the office at 0830hrs this morning (we don’t get fancy air con as we don’t work in the ‘posh’ part). Didn’t fancy that too much so out onto the shop floor as it was a bit cooler, to get a jump on the ‘big clean up’ that’s happening Monday. Within half an hour, skin leaking, t-shirt wringing wet. It felt like I’d walked into the fires of Mordor
I have been sweltering in 35 degree heat indoors while wearing little but sweat on my skin (horrible image I know!)
Today has been cooler - indoors now is 27.5 degrees.
I’m in shorts and a T-shirt and I’m COLD!

I really don’t do heat, I live on west coast, Blackpool, so the temperatures have not hit the horrendous levels of the southeast. But has still been uncomfortable for me previous 2 days circa 33 C. It’s now down to my ideal comfort level of 19 C (I’m ok with 19 - 22). Aaaahhh! Big sigh of relief.
@macspite - I too have been wandering around the house in as little clothes as possible (the stuff of nightmares fat old bastard in nowt but trollies), did have blinds shut (doors &windows open) so as not to scar people for life.![]()
Wish I could head off to France … ![]()
Been a hot day today. Took the Avata 2 round the garden for mom and when I landed the case was pretty warm.
Time to get the paddling pool out, @PingSpike
I reckon an evening flight is on the cards. What I’ve noticed the last few days is the intensity of the sunlight, and how tiring it is on my poor old eyes after even a fairly short while. Been a bit edgy breeze-wise last few days, but it’s eased off now; the big problems are (bearing in mind I’m old enough to need to worry about this sort of thing) the heat, the flies, and those incessant pounding native drums it’s the white man’s grave I tell you Carruthers, fetch me a chota peg and another native girl, this one’s split, yeah, the heat, which should ease off a bit after about 7, and the pollen. UV has. to be considered, Kp is fine, but my main enemy is exhaustion, heat and physical, and dessication. And it’s over a week since the drone’s been out, so a full on pre-flight is needed.
I got some that stick on reflective tinted glass for the patio doors, and after about 15.00 the sun comes around and I really appreciate them, because it blasts into my little living room like god on full beams with no respite until about 20.00 when it goes behind the houses.
Already above 25.0°C.
22 on the 6am dog walk.
Borderline too hot for them then, just seen people just setting off, they need looking at.
The 25C is a real outdoor weather station air temp reading. The lounge never fell below 24C last night. 28C currently.
Sophie gets a full cold water hose down before her walk (5am, today).
Same in the afternoon. She still insists on her 4pm walk .. it’s just much shorter.
The hose down has certainly made the walks more comfortable for her.
Backed up my Southampton airport .. at 08:50 ..
In car temp (with all windows open all night) currently 32℃.
Confirmed by iOS too ![]()
What is iOS “measuring”? It’s not real-time, for sure. It’s a guesswork generalisation .. and inaccurate.
Three reliable weather stations in your area don’t give that .. and agree with each other.
Brayton Lane? Must be near you?
The 25 was (generalised) your gaff on iOS
4 miles or so
We have 30℃. ![]()
