Trwyn Du Lighthouse Penmon Point | With My First DJI Avata 2 Flight (Anglesey Cinematic)

This video captures my first flight with the DJI Avata 2 as well a using my trusty Air 3S, filmed at the stunning Trwyn Du Lighthouse on the eastern edge of Anglesey.

Standing at Penmon Point, this striking black and white lighthouse was built in 1838 to guide ships safely through the narrow and often dangerous waters of the Menai Strait—an area once known for shipwrecks caused by hidden rocks and powerful currents.

Using a mix of cinematic drone footage and storytelling, this film explores not just the beauty of the location, but the reason it exists. From the dangers that came before it, to its construction and role as a working beacon, Trwyn Du remains a quiet but vital presence along this stretch of coastline.

As this was my very first flight with the Avata 2, it was also a chance to test its capabilities in a real-world setting—capturing smooth, immersive footage in one of the most atmospheric coastal locations in North Wales.

Nice artwork. Where did that come from? A querky little cafe as I recall!

The artwork is from AI, Patrick. I use ChatGPT. If you write a detailed prompt, it’ll come up with what you want, eventually. Then you can use it as a reference image to animate using SEEDANCE 2. But the latter is using free credits and one-off payments of around 10p. There are a multitude of AI image-to-video scams that will catch you out, though. I ended up with an unsolicited £40/month subscription with one provider. :scream: I cancelled straight away through PayPal, who also got me a quick refund.

They are brilliant, though, but sometimes get it wrong from a historic viewpoint, so I have to be vigilant. :eyes:

I didn’t spot that, damn, missed out on a cuppa!
