A short post to join a few dots / threads together.
We discussed a year ago, almost to the day, the details of Network Remote ID.
You may recall that the results of the CAA consultation showed that 86% of respondents disagreed with their plans for Remote ID.
Disappointingly, it was announced yesterday that the CAA will now receive £20.5m in Government funding to develop a hybrid Remote ID system.
I say “develop” rather than “deliver”, because experience tells us that won’t be the end of the spending and in reality it’ll cost a lot more. Anyone remember the BJSS consultancy fees to build DMARES back in the day? 
Here’s a copy of a letter from the Secretary of State, Heidi Alexander, which was sent to Chair of CAA, Stephen Hillier, which also makes for interesting reading. There’s also a mention of “actively testing the Light UAS Certificate with UK operators”:
