this whole UK / C class thing is crazy - basically the CAA just have to say - OK guys C drones are the same as UK class drones and come 2028 they will be treated as such ( they do it today so why revert them to legacy in 2028 ) its crazy as nothing in the spec has changed - mmm someone needs to challenge the CAA on this one as its easier for them to say - yup OK carry on guys.
I for one will be a bit annoyed if new boxed Air 3S’s have UK1 stamped on them when I got mine at the beginning of this year and it only has a C1 on it.

Used DJI’s online chat to ask how do I know if I buy an Air 3S whether it is just C1 or marked UK1. Felt like an AI reply but that wouldn’t make a spelling mistake, unless that’s on purpose to make them look real.
Anyway … Buy an Air 3S from DJI and it’s UK1

We used to use serial number checks years ago, when hunting for the pre-.700 firmware Mavics, the same could probably be applied here

Yeah I suspect it does not work very well as the Avata 2 was released in 2024 as was the Air 3s
So something is off there for sure.
That’s the old Mavic decoder from 2017, I doubt it’ll work on anything newer than a Mavic 2 generation drone perhaps.

Just about to send my Avata 2 back (no class marks at all) on Care Refresh, lets see what they send me back.
Hmmmm, I have just emailed UK DJI Customer Services asking if I order an Air 3S Fly More Combo with RC2 from them will the drone have a UK1 mark. Their answer:
At present, we are unable to confirm which markings the drones will have, as all drones manufactured prior to 1st of January 2026, will have the EU markings.
As all products are factory sealed, we are unable to open the items to confirm.
If the drone has the EU markings, you are still able to fly the drone until 2028, at which will provide customers with a resolution to ensure the drones won’t become useless.
For 626 days at least (as of today)
Reply to them with my screenshot and let us know what they say.
It seems beyond the wit of logic that a drone, that is identical in every way, except for a few indentations of plastic in a casing would be put in a different legal category just because it was manufactured a week earlier than the other.
All that will happen is it will make a mockery of the UK rating and people will just go. My drone is C1, uk labels are exactly the same as a C1 except it was made a month later, so i’ll just ignore it.

Ok until you get caught, and remember RID will increase that by a minuscule amount, unless (again I fancy) a large amount of flyers will also ignore
OK, I replied with Crackerjack’s screenshot and their reply is given below. So it looks like we asked different UK DJI stores - it seems I used a reseller (I can’t post the link as this forum says their web address is under review! but it starts dji-retail) whereas I see Crackerjack used DJI Store - Official Store for DJI Drones, Gimbals and Accessories (United Kingdom), so maybe the ones from there are UK1 marked?
We are a UK authorised reseller that offers live chat from the Official DJI.
All drones that have been manufactured after the 1st of January 2026, by law, must come with the UK markings. However, as mentioned, our stock is mixed, and we are unable to open any packaging to check the markings the drone is supplied with.
Thats an inresting twist on what the CAA actually say
Any new model of drone or model aircraft placed on the market from 1 January 2026 must have a UK class mark.
Tom Helme replied to a chat on Facebook where I asked someone if their new 3S was UK1 marked with this photo. Not having one yet, I don’t know what it’s from, is this a 3S?
