Has anyone has got any video footage of 5k, 10k etc events on their youtube or vimeo channels, which has not already been posted in the Videos by Drone category?
Thanks.

I hadn’t seen that one @stevesb ![]()
I’m after ideas to video our local one next weekend. Yours is a good gauge for how long it’ll take for everyone to clear the first few hundred metres.
All of the ones I’ve watched have been shot from around the same height too.
I liked the build up to the start as well.
Great stuff, Thanks ![]()
Park Run have a crazy no drone policy - still not overly sure how they police it though. Just know a few who have been told to take their videos off social media or not post them to park run social groups.
As for other runs mmm groups of people but if your off to the side I don’t see why not.
It is odd that there seems to be a lack of this type of footage around.
I think the Fradley 10k is organized by KP Events. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had similar though!
I got a little of it last year, spur of the moment thing, with my mini 4. I sort of thought I could get better footage with the cameras on the mavic 4. After scouting out some likely spots today, I’m doubtful.
I’d like to get the start, but the leaders will be back after 15 minutes so I won’t have much time to move position etc afterwards.
I was planning on running that but it’s sold out - ugh and now I have a cold so was lucky I guess
Thats a shame, we’d have cheered you on
And active tracked you!
Have you done it before?
There is usually someone in it that we know, I’m still hoping this year that’s the case as well.
Not don’t that one but have done a few decent runs In Tamworth / Litchfield over the years.
I’d seen this before when I had been asked to cover one for a mate who runs a local running club

Bit of a GDPR nightmare as the majority are identifiable from the results they publish freely ;o(
But they are generally in public spaces and they often have a volunteer who’s job is to take photos and post them online
The drone policy is more too do with liability - don’t want a load of runners losing an eye or head to the blades of a drone
As with most of this type of thought process/decision, its disguised as safeguarding, and everyone knee jerks to it, very much like they do to Health and Safety (I know this at my peril as I work in both)
Fortunately for me, the Fradley organisers at KP Events only seem to have a few sensible rules for their runners and, unsurprisingly, non for the general public. Well done them.
I’m likely to be more of a hazard than my drone, getting about the crowded pavements in a wheelchair!
PIP claimants !!
I’m being trained up to be a Parkrun Run Director, will ask about this policy.
In in that link above - I do think its more to do with risk and they do not understand that there are rules in place by the CAA to safe guard on that risk and it has little to nothing to do with privacy as the runs are in public space and they have photographers on the ground.
