I did not manage to take my Drone but after a few emails from the race organisers stopping anyone from Italy participating in the race it went ahead with 22 degree temperatures and a very nice day.
We also tried paddle boarding from Sliema across to Valletta and would advise anyone to have a go.
The paddle boarding or the marathon? 
As a teenager, living out there, my parents entered me for a charity swim from, Gozo to Comino (a refuel stop) and on to Malta. The organisers graciously allowed us to use flippers so I was told afterwards by my ever helpful father 
Still, total distance was approx 5 to 6 miles and as I’d done my ASA 10m badge age 7/8 this was a very doable distance … just in open waters!!!
Both events paddle boarding is worth a go and with the water temperature being 16 degrees you do not need a wet suit and even the half Marathon a bit harder but a bit warm at 22 degrees but enjoyable.
