Well here it is. The Norfolk Flown Driers branch of GADC are proud to present the video we took of The North Norfolk Triathlon at Wells last weekend. Some footage from @chrisjohnbaker, some from me.

B-effing-Rilliant!!! :+1:

Movie Director Badge is definitely warranted! :bowing_man:

I reckon the Harbourmaster, Robert Smith, will be delighted to see that.

And, from my personal perspective, I think Russell and Myself done not a bad job of the flying!
(from a couple of amateurs)
I am composing a email to The Harbour Master to see if we can get “Carte Blanch” permission for other GADC Members to be able to fly in that area.
I am also going to approach him about GADC Members being able to cover all stages of the race, so perhaps next year we can get a team of GADC Members together for what could be a great days flying.
Will keep you all posted !

same here

Great edit, and it brought some memories flooding back of crabbing off the harbour wall and the arcades.

I spent all my childhood holidays not far away staying with a great aunt, still get back now again (but not as often as I should) as my Dad and Grand Parents are all buried down there ;o(

Thanks!

I bet that’s a good place for crabbing! I’ve only been a few times, but that was either at Southwold Harbour or Walberswick.

The big question is - do you have a secret bait preference, or just use bacon like everyone else?

Been probably 35 years since I last went crabbing, back then there were quite a few fishing boats worked out of the harbour selling bags of ‘fish bits’ for the crab lines. You could literally fill a bucket in a couple of hours. I’m probably rose tinting it a bit, but when I went back a few years ago It was all still very familiar.

Wells has not changed much at all, become very Commercialised, with the Wind Farm boats from Off Sheringham now using it (and other Norfolk Ports)
But, that’s progress, I suppose, it’s still a great day out.

Well done guys, great video :+1: Who needs an Inspire when the Mavics can do the job

Thanks Paul,
I believe an Inspire would have been to obtrusive in this situation.
And could also have put the Competitors off, and ,possibly caused a negative response from the onlookers.

I am hoping that The Harbour Master once he has seen the video Russell has done, will come back with a positive reply to a email that I sent to him this morning.
Will keep you posted !
