I would not trade in the mini 3 pro for the mini 4 pro. The difference in image quality is almost non existent and is purely software. If you are taking photos there is no difference at all. Flight time is comparable but slightly higher on the Mini3 pro. Range is more than sufficient on the min3 pro, the extra range on the mini 4 pro seems a commercial argument to me without any added value. Yeah maybe obstacle avoidance… however you should never ever trust obstacle avoidance… i fly without it and never missed it. So that leaves very little points for the mini 4 pro imho
I thought the upgrade (and it definitely is an upgrade) was not worth it at first, but as the cost was not an issue for me and after talking with a few close members to me who had bought one, I got one anyway!
I now have both the mini 3 Pro and the mini4 and at the moment, in my experience, whilst they are comparable I do enjoy the additional features of the new drone.
The better signal isn’t just about the additional range it can give but the quality of stable connection in an urban environment, which was my only real gripe with the m3p. Yes the quality of their camera’s are virtually identicle but the m4 is much more capable of getting the stable footage I’m after and the use of cruise control and waypoints open up another level of user friendliness I enjoy.
I’ve not noticed any noticeable difference at all in flight time between the two, but get the shots I want with the 4 that I fail to get 1st time with the 3 so have more time left for fun flying.
I will be selling my beloved mini 3 Pro soon as it’s quite honestly been trumped by the m4.
As others have said trade-in will get very little value back as they have to compensate for VAT on resale and make a profit…
I’ve sold about 4 on eBay from Mavic Pro 1, mini 2 and 3 and Air 2S as an auction and always got a very good price… There is a risk of course as the market can flitter… But it’s Christmas and people are looking for presents! Good luck
