Lisnabreeny Rath, Castlereagh Hills, Belfast - Added to Iconic Landscapes and Ancient Sites in Northern Ireland

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission not required.

Lisnabreeny Rath is a National Trust site at the highest point on the Castlereagh Hills in the southeast part of Belfast, just above Cregagh Glen. The easiest access is from the free NT car park on the Lisnabreeny Road (///flag.year.certified) but if you want to make it a bit more worthwhile you can start from the bottom of Cregagh Glen (///dame.sudden.tunes). There is plenty of free on-street parking on the Cregagh Road, just across the A55 dual carriageway from the entrance to the glen. The walk up the glen involves numerous steps, and it is steep in places, but it is not very long. Half way up the glen, and signposted, is a short detour path which leads to a former American Military Cemetery, from where there are stunning views over Belfast. There are several other points on the path which also give panoramic views of the area. There are no facilities at the site, but shops, pubs and restaurants can all be found nearby. DJI drones will give you warnings here, though you are about 3km outside Belfast City airport ATZ.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 25/08/2022. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.
