Northern Spire Bridge - Added to Bridges in North East

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

This is a good spot to explore both the Northern Spire Bridge and the derelict Cretehawser concrete boat on the River Wear.
The two-span, cable-stayed bridge opened in 2018, and rises to 105m.
The Cretehawser boat dates back to 1919.

Free roadside parking close by at W3W: ///winter.sadly.slows

Take the path down to the riverside at W3W: ///quick.orbit.copy

TOAL: W3W: ///diner.frames.sing

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 19/11/2023. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

Nice addition Alan @mollin

What’s the background story on the boat?

Thanks @PingSpike.
The Cretehawser was one of a few concrete tug boats built on Wearside.
There’s some interesting info about the boats, including how the Cretehawser came to rest at its present site, at: The wreck of the Steam Tug Cretehawser - Durham at War

In 1943 Cretestem was sunk in the South Dock in another air raid.

Interesting stuff, thanks @mollin
