Pencil Monument - Added to Monuments in Scotland

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission not required.

The Pencil was built in 1912, to commemorate the Battle of Largs 1263, when the Scots defeated King Haco of Norway's troops on the shore at Largs, after the 160 long ships got caught in a storm.

Large flight area with only a couple of trees round the edge of the Monument to avoid.
Great for beginners.
Can be popular with the public during nice weather. Great views over largs and Islands.

Caution for Seagulls, I attracted a large group near the end of my flight which started to dive at my drone and resulted in me having to do a fast return and land to protect the drone.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 19/03/2024. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.
