South Parade Pier - Portsmouth - Added to Historic Buildings in South East

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

The South Parade Pier is in Portsmouth and was built in 1875.

The pier is free to enter and plenty of room to take off as you will see in the video.

You can take off either side of the pier on the sand and parking is alongside the main road.

Just be careful of the rods and lines at the end of the pier.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 06/01/2024. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

I want to fly here @StunningDrone, but there are no parking or take off and landing markers. Would you be able to add some to the map please?

Hi Ian, South Parade Pier is a great location to fly and very simple to take off from. The Esplanade runs for about three miles with parking on one side of the road. As for take off I spoke with a man on the front gate and he said you can take off from the end of the pier, however you can take off from the beach or the public road. Hope it goes well for you. :+1:
