This looks interesting. TWIN MOTOR 2022 New WING L100 GPS Drone Dual HD Camera V-Type Dual-Rotor EIS Two-Axis Gimbal Optical Flow 5G Wifi Foldable Helicopter RC Distance 1200M £150 (ish) Different anyway! Aliexpress…
Significantly cheaper than the ZZ-Robotics V-copter. If it’s using brushless motors and has a decent power system it’s worth it just for the novelty value.
Update edit.
I’ve just bought one.
I have looked for spare batteries for this machine…zilch. You can can buy it as usual with 1,2 or 3 batts but try and find more ro buy… odd really that they are not advertising batteries available on their own…
I bought the single battery option from Banggood as the other options had sold out. To be honest I doubt it’ll have a fancy BMS and could probably be powered from a regular lipo or 18650 setup.
I’m expecting the performance to be poor to non-existent, but again it’s the novelty value that attracts me to it. I have tri’s, quad’s, Hex’s and octo’s, might as well add a bi to the collection.
Hmm … Article 16 section 3.9 could come into play with that twin motor set-up:
(2) A model aircraft is permitted to fly at a height in excess of 120m (400ft) above
the surface, in accordance with the limitations of this authorisation, if all the
conditions in sub paragraphs a) to e) below are met.
a) The model aircraft is not a rotorcraft with more than two lift generating
rotors or propellers;
(I think it meets the other requirements of 3.9)
We have a 1,000ft ceiling Authorisation at our model flying club, but it excludes all horizontal rotor craft (heli’s quads and such).
I think what that section you’ve quoted actually pertains to fixedwing rotored, EDF, and jets, which our authorisation covers. To the best of my knowledge operation of a non-fixed-wing drone above 400ft is only permissable under a special time limited authorisation, and the operator has specific prerequisites. I doubt Article 16 or A2COG will cut it on their own.
It was the novelty that attracted me but perhaps I will pass on it
It’s well documented on here, and possibly my medical records that I:
Have no self control.
Would benefit from 24hr adult supervision.
And should, at all costs, be discouraged from all forms of procreation.
Well this is a bit of a damp squid
I’ve just received an email from Banggood to say that they have cancelled my order because:
*** We regret to inform you that there is no suitable shipping method to ship the item in your order to your country due to some shipping regulations of the logistics company. ***
I presume this is because of the LiPo battery. It’s the first time I’ve experienced this with Banggood and as this is my first BG order of this year I wonder if this is due to the very recent changes that have taken place at our borders regarding the excessive documentation requirements for all imports?
They are on Chinese New Year for 2 weeks, (if they dont blow themselves up with firewroks etc)
Aliexpress will no doubt ship it without that sort of shipping excuse…
I used to do a lot of business with Germany and some of their suppliers refuse to ship due “paperwork” yet others will do so
Personally I think its pure bloodymindedness on the German suppliers part…Brexit and all that.
Their loss.
I have come to the realisation that this drone probably doesn’t exist. There are YT vids going back 4 to 5 months, showing the same promo stuff, but as far as I can tell no one has actually got one. Reading between the lines of Banggood’s listing, they needed to secure so many orders to make selling it viable. This is something Gearbest used to do all the time. And when purchasers started to complain about not receiving anything GB would blame the supplier. A sort of very dodgy Chinese version of Kickstarter.
You could well be correct. ALIexpress has a few shops advertising it but when you go into their shop detais its spec(s) etc is there but any request as if in stock or ready to ship query is met with the Chinese New Year excuse…so I doubt a response…
Yes all very well…but has anybody got one? These Chinese advertise them but dont have them available.
