50% Increase on Adobe Monthly Software Plans in 2025

That’s great but I guarantee if you was or when the time comes to renew they’d then charge you the higher price maybe ?

When you redeem the purchase can you please post here what version it is & if it gives you the option to downgrade to different versions ( PS + LR LRC ) as well as Adobe camera raw ?
Would be great to know many thanks :+1:

Well I took the plunge and purchased the £77 adobe plan from amazon. So now running Affinity photo 2 alongside adobe to compare, presently still in the trial period, however quite like it and will likely purchase it.

Here’s a misty Blackpool pano quickly stitched in photo 2 today.

I always buy an Annual Photography Plan licence for around £70 on a Black Friday deal. Update my Adobe account with the licence code and Adobe automatically applies it when the plan I’m using expires end of January.

Just a heads up
If you’ve not decided weather to pay monthly / annually or move to a different programme / software, after midnight tonight this goes up the 50% increase on the monthly plan, I’ve just changed to yearly £119.00, so just thought id send out a reminder just incase you forgot as I nearly did !

Is that only postponing when you’ll possibly be paying even more annually? If so - yo have the same decision to may on 14th Jan 2026.

I did initially think they might hike the price up again come next year, so yes maybe a decision that’ll have to be made again ( hopefully not ) robbing buggers :joy:

Interestingly, I’ve not had any direct communication from Adobe that an increase is imminent. Surely they have to do that first?

Yes they should have but it seems many of us subscribers was not informed ( I wasn’t for one ) have been with them 2 years & I only found out the same way as the video posted above, no email no warning no nothing, but when I subscribed for the year I got a 65p refund don’t spend it all at once hey, mind you that’s only 34p shy of a competition ticket “ not going off topic “ it could be a winner

Doesn’t appear that mine is changing … yet …

August 21 the last increase I experienced … and I was notified in advance.

Perhaps I will be hit around Aug 25. :scream:

Hmmm id be carful with that, mine said the same when I updated to yearly but I didn’t want to risk it otherwise id have left it as was, maybe after midnight tonight that may change just a guess .

They can’t change what’s in black and white.

Your right as far as I’m concerned but can they will they would they

Edit : if I can remember rightly, the price hike is from the 15th Jan 25 so if you were new then you’d pay the new price, if your all ready subscribed as yourself ( not 100% sure ) but think that stays the same till your up for renewal as you mentioned above then it’ll increase, as mine was is due for renewal in February it was just best to do it now rather than get caught short as they’ve been quiet about this all ready.

Adobe’s upcoming changes. If you’re subscribed to the 20 GB Photography Plan and pay annually, your price remains at $120 per year. However, for those paying monthly, the cost will rise from $9.99 to $14.99 per month starting January 15, 2025. This increase will only take effect at the start of your next billing cycle, so it won’t hit everyone simultaneously.

I maybe playing devil’s advocate here …

I’ve been an Adobe CC subscriber since 2015, been on the photography plan since day one
Lightroom & Photoshop for a tenner a month (well £9.98)

Ok, I admit I fully understand people objection to a subscription model

BUT

Fast forward 10 years later and up until the end of this month it’s still a tenner
Granted a 50% increase in one fell swoop is asking a bit much, but that’s still the latest version of Photoshop, Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic including all updates as and when released for the price of a take out coffee a week (less depending on your choice of barista)

Over these 10 years, I’ve dabbled in other software, but I still find myself coming back to Lightroom as for me I still find it the perfect digital darkroom
Not often I venture into Photoshop for my photography, apart from it’s far superior clone tools

I’m new to all this tbh but as I never update, am running only ACR 16 & PS 2023 ( which I’m still learning & happy with ) speaking for myself I feel there should be an option where you can stick at what you’ve got for a reduced price rather than the full price as your not keeping up with the updates or paying for something your not interested in, but then on the flip side as you say if you keeping up with it or making money out your photos then it’s well worth it I guess, I’m not tight I just hate paying for something I don’t use :+1:

Saying that tho maybe I should download Lightroom as that seems to be quite a favourite for most .

Ah well, I guess that’s the nudge I need to finally try out some alternatives. Bravo, Adobe, you found my last straw.

Might be easier to take for younger folk who’ve never experienced holding the actual install media in their hands, or running the same old software on the same old hardware for umpteen years because when (and if) you spend money on an upgrade is entirely your choice and the version you own does everything you need it to do.

Most Adobe subscription plans, are an annual agreement, so both parties locked in until your anniversary date, then they apply the increase.

Mine kicks in on the 3rd Feb. :flushed:

I’ve already terminated my subscription.

NB - if you try to terminate before your anniversary date, they will sting you for 50% of remainder of the years agreement.

Maybe then although their price hike starts today as yours is not up until Aug 25 then I should imagine that’s when you’ll see the 50% increase.

I’d drop them an email & let them know you wasn’t aware/warned about this & only found it out through social media & see what they say in the hope you don’t get stung further down the line, I think further up this thread someone raised it to them & I think they got a discount or something Here :+1:
